The Day the Giant Finally Won

It was Sunday November 19, 2017.  I was going to my 2nd New York Giants game. They were playing the Kansas City Chiefs which basically meant they were going to lose. I was waiting with my eyes stuck on the clock. I wanted the clock to instantly hit 10:30. I just knew this was a super important game because I never get to go anywhere with my Dad alone.
“Come on Maggie it's time to get dressed!” my Dad yelled down to me
So I got up and started to run upstairs.
“Dad, I know the Giants are never going to win. A 1-8 team has no chance of beating a 6-3 team., I exclaimed.”
“ I know but you'll have to wait and see.” he replied.
I jumped in  my room. A loud thud of excitement followed me. I tried to put on my Odell Beckham Jr jersey and my navy blue sweatpants really fast. The temperature was going to be 40-50 degrees but with super cold winds. We made sure to grab extra jackets, gloves, hats, and blankets. Then it happened … the clock struck 10:30.
“Come on Dad , we have to leave now!” I shouted. We  quickly said goodbye to my Mom and Brother.

We stopped at the Easton Village store to pick up lunch for our tailgate.  All me and my Dad did was talk in the car. We talked about all sorts of things. Football, sports, and we even called my grandma. The drive ended up to be only 1 hour and 15 min. I expected the drive to be way longer.

We pulled into the parking lot.
“Do you want to eat first?” my Dad asked.
“Yea! I’m starving.” I replied
We started to eat our egg and cheeses from EVS. I kept rushing my Dad to finish, so we could start getting ready
I started to put on my face decorations under my cheeks. They had the Giants sign on them. I then got out of the car to put on my coat. But I couldn't manage to do so because  it was so windy. I stuffed some of my warheads in my pocket since we weren't allowed to bring in food. The both of us finally grabbed our blankets and started heading for the stadium. As we walked by people tailgating I could hear the sizzles and pops of their grills. Red and blue jerseys flashed by you everywhere you went.

When we got into Met Life,we went straight to the Super Bowl trophies room. The Giants Super Bowl trophies were in a big clear glass case. With their old jerseys and helmets in skinny clear cases.
“Dad, I’m thirsty .” I said.
“ Ok, let’s go get something.” he responded.
I got hot chocolate and my Dad got a pretzel.  As I took a sip of my hot chocolate. It spilled down my shirt and it burned me.
“Oh Maggie, are you ok”, my Dad asked.
“Yes I just need some napkins” I responded.
So I ran to the bathroom to get napkins.

We got to our seats right when fog and fireworks shot out of the tunnel. I saw Manning, Darkwa, Apple, and Pierre-Pul run out. They did the coin toss and the Chiefs got the ball first. They did some pretty good plays. But they didn't get a touchdown. Like always refs threw flags for a lot of plays . They were mostly on the Giants. I would hear “BOO” from one area of people to another. The Giants had the ball. They gained a lot of yards to end up being 3rd and goal. Manning passed, Engram caught. TOUCHDOWN GIANTS!
“Yea” , all the Giants fans screamed.

Then I started to  remember 3 weeks ago. Charlie, Dad , and I were sitting in the freezing cold rain . While the Giants were losing 44-17 to the Rams. But then my mind thought, the Giants are winning now. So I quickly went back to focusing on the game.  The 2nd and 3rd quarter went by so fast. At the beginning of the 4th quarter the score was 9-6. The Giants were winning! During the 4th quarter the Chiefs made a field goal. Now everybody was screaming “Let's go Giants”or just “ Giants,Giants”.Their was now 1:50 left on the clock. The game was now tied 9-9. Me and my Dad started to get mad. The game ended up getting into Over Time. The Over Time was really boring except for the end. Lewis Jr caught a 1 hand catch that was really good. Then with 1:58  on the clock. Rosas scored a game winning field goal.
“Giants win” I shouted.
“I guess I was wrong about the Giants!” I said to my Dad.
“I guess you were!” he replied.
Everyone was screaming with excitement.I thought of how happy I was to have witnessed one of my first Giants wins at Met Life with my Dad. We were so proud to be Giants fans, (at that time).
