The Sprained Ankle

Recess
Grace was running to the field. She couldn’t wait to start recess. When she finally got to the field she was running so quickly she tripped on the soccer goal and sprained her ankle. “Ow!” Grace wailed. Her friends hurriedly got a recess aid and Grace was carried to the nurse's office. She was so worried she thought she might not make it to her cheer competition on November 3rd.
When Grace’s mom finally got to the school, she yelled, “Oh no!”
“Mom it really hurts!” Grace cried. Grace was sobbing with hurt in her eyes.
“Grace let’s go to the doctor now! I got you an appointment at 4:00p.m and we will be late!” mom shouted at Grace.
“I do not want to go! I don’t like the doctor’s office.” Grace whined.
“Well you have no choice. You are going now, let’s go!” mom said in an impatiently angry voice.

The Doctor’s Office
When they were going to the car Grace was whining “It hurts, it really hurts, mom!”
By the time they got to the doctor’s office, Grace’s arm was on her mom and she was limping, her mom basically carried her to the waiting room. It was such a long wait Grace thought it was hours before they would call her name. Finally they heard, “Grace,” and they were so happy that they did not have to wait any longer.
When they got to the room they were supposed to be in the doctor asked, “What happened?”
“I was running and I tripped over a soccer goal,” Grace mumbled under her breath feeling embarrassed.
“What? I couldn’t hear you?”the doctor replied.
“I was running and I tripped over a soccer goal,” Grace said louder.
The doctor touched Graces ankle and….. “Ow!” Grace belted.
“Okay…. That is a pretty bad sprain,” exclaimed the doctor. “You are going to need crutches and an ace bandage until November 1st,” the doctor said sympathetically.
“Phew,”  Grace said not so worriedly. “I will be able to make it to my cheer competition,” Grace chimed. All of a sudden, the pain didn’t feel SO bad.

School
When Grace got to school the next day everyone was asking her, “Are you okay? Is it bad?” Grace felt like she was an adorable puppy with everyone toppling on her. Everybody at Grace’s table, including Caroline, was helping her.  It was getting really annoying to Grace.
“Can I sit with Caroline at the back table?” Grace asked the teacher. Everyone got upset that Grace did not pick them and chose Caroline.
Grace knew they just wanted to try her crutches. By the time that everyone was going out for recess, Caroline asked Grace, “Do you want me to sit with you at recess?’’
“Yes, it will be good to have someone with me, I don’t want to be alone maybe we can bring out crayons, paper and pencils so we can draw together”, Grace replied.
That recess was the best for both of them.

Again With The Doctor’s Office
After weeks and weeks of being on crutches and having an  ace bandage, it was finally November 1st. They finally got to the doctor’s office to take the ace bandage off and get rid of the crutches. Grace was flailing her arms in the car she was so happy.
When they got to the waiting room they sat down for a second and then they heard, “Grace.”  Grace was thinking in her head Yes! I am going to make it to my cheer competition, but on the other hand, she also was worried she wouldn’t be able to make it if they did not put it on for long enough or it is really bad. When they got to their room the doctor came in and Grace was crossing her fingers and saying in her head, please! please! please! I hope I do not need the ace bandage and crutches anymore they are so annoying. “Congratulations!” the doctor said excitedly. “Let’s take the ace bandage off.”
Grace was so happy she could scream. Grace was trembling with excitement. “You can keep the crutches,” the doctor added.
When they finally left the doctor’s office, Grace called all her friends in the car and they were so happy for her. Grace was a little nervous for Saturday morning.

Friday
Today was Friday. They had a day off from school.  It also was the day before the cheer competition. Grace was so nervous and she was also excited. Grace was worried that she would never cheer the same way. She was so excited because this is their ticket to Nationals. Grace couldn’t get it off her mind. Grace ran downstairs to eat breakfast as fast as she could listing all her worries on a piece of paper and throwing it in the garbage hoping they will go away. When Grace was running outside she tripped on one of her dogs named Lacy. She was running so quickly that she didn’t even notice. She just kept running to her trampoline.
When Grace got to her trampoline, she started calling everybody on her cheer squad so that they can practice. When everybody from her cheer squad got to her house they ran straight to Grace’s trampoline and right away started to practice. It figures that they were all nervous too, all for different reasons.

The Big Day
Today’s the day, was repeating over and over in Grace’s head. She couldn’t seem to get it out of her mind. She was so nervous. It was 6:45a.m and Grace thought she would be late so she hurriedly got ready throwing her uniform on and brushing her hair like crazy so she could put it in a bun. When she was finally ready, she was shoving her breakfast in her mouth and was afraid of being late for the competition. “Let’s go!” Grace yelled up the stairs, “We'll be late!”
When they finally got in the car and left, Grace was shaking she was so nervous.
When they got there Grace could barely walk. When they got to the gym, Grace could barely move.  Mom looked in the pamphlet to see when Grace was going on. “You are fifth,” mom gasped.
Grace sprinted to her cheer squad in the bleachers. Mom and dad thankfully got front row seats. When it was time for them to go on, dad got his phone ready to film and Grace could not help being so nervous. When she stepped on the mat she ran to get to her position and the announcer said in a microphone, “ You may begin.” They started. When she was up in the air she realized she was cheering the same. By the time that they finished she forgot about being worried and Grace was excited for awards.  Awards started and the announcer said that Aspetuck got 1st place. Their cheer squad was so happy and Grace got to bring the 1st place trophy home.

Students Should Not Get Homework

Have you ever had a tragic time when you start making exciting plans until, “Honey, remember to do your homework.” That's why we students shouldn't get any homework.

One of the big ideas why students should not get homework is because it doesn't help earth. One reason why homework doesn’t help earth is because homework is made of paper, and paper is made of trees. Trees are very important because, they give oxygen which fights global warming. Another reason why homework harms earth is because it can kill many animals, again because of global warming. Global warming is, when the globe gets warm, well global warming has the right name. I know what you’re thinking,¨Yay more summer.” But, this is not good because it can kill many animals and it can melt snow and ice which some animals live on and they need it to survive. Global warming can kill penguins, snow foxes, polar bears, etc. So homework is more than meets the eye.

Another big idea why students should not have homework is because we have no time to do it. When you really get home, it's 4:00 or 4:30 then you take a shower, eat, get dressed, and get ready for tomorrow. Then it's already 8:00 and it's time for bed. Another reason why you don't have time do to do homework is that you might have to go to an afterschool program which can last till 6:00. This happened to me before when I had ice skating class, which ended at 6:15. Then I do my big night routine. (eat, get dressed, etc.) and BOOM chaca locka locka it's already time to go to sleep...Sorry. The next day I come to school with no finished homework and then I get in big trouble. Well as you can see it was not the best experience. Sometimes I have to go out and eat, and bet this happens to you, but it is always takes too much time to get the food ready. You get back home and it's time to go to sleep.

The last big idea why we should not get any homework is because it’s very stressful. This can happen when you have no idea what on earth to do. This happened to me when my class had a new topic I just stared blankly at the piece of paper. Then I checked the time. It was already 4:15. I was staring at the paper for 15 whole minutes! I started to get angry. Then stressed. Well sometimes I also check a math question and then you get it wrong, you redo it, and check again, wrong again. You keep on getting it wrong over and over, and still get it wrong. This is the frustration and stress that homework can cause.

Homework harms the earth and causes stress. In addition, it is hard to fit it in your daily routine after school without causing more problems.  As you can see students should never get homework.

My Dog Is the Best Dog in the World

In this essay you will learn how my dog Angel is the best dog in the world. There are many reasons I think Angel is the best dog in the world, read to find out how he is the best!

My dog, Angel is the best dog in the world and I think he is really cute. He is a medium-sized dog with short blonde fur. He has a long tail and short ears that stand up when he is curious or excited. I think it is cute when his ears curve at the top when they stand up. He also has a tiny beard with brown hair on each side and blonde hair in the middle.  At night he curls up beside me on the bed when I am falling asleep. When my mom is putting his dog food in the bowl, he tries to eat some of the food out of the can while she is putting it in the bowl. These are some reasons I think he is cute.

Angel is the best dog in the world because I think he is playful. He is playful because he runs around the yard like crazy. He runs in and out of the bushes and goes through the trees. We have a big rock in our yard and he jumps on and off of it. Another reason why I think he is playful is because  he plays tag with me. One time we went to the dog park and we were playing tag. He was it and I tripped and fell. Then he jumped on me and tagged me and ran away. Angel loves to play with me. As soon as I get off the bus, he grabs his toy  as soon as he hears the door open and runs to me . Then he drops his toy and runs to the  door to greet me. After he greets me,he runs to the other door and waits for me to take him outside to play.

My dog is the best dog in the world because he is funny. Angel barks when I am upset and he gets hyper. It is funny because he runs around the house and whines. He makes us all laugh. He actually laughed at himself and it is really funny and cute. It was quite weird. Once we gave Angel steak after we ate dinner then we threw the steak across the kitchen. He went in the other direction . He ran up the stairs and around the house.  Finally he ran back downstairs into the kitchen and devoured the piece of steak. Then he ran to watch us eat to get more steak. It looked like he was laughing and we also started to laugh. Another reason Angel is  funny is that he is always hyper. He always runs around the house like crazy and jumps on all of our beds and couches. The last reason that Angel is funny is he runs around the house cleaning up his toys. Sometimes he runs around the house picking up his toys and putting them in one spot with all his bones. This is really funny to watch because he is cleaning up for himself. That is why Angel is a really funny dog.

I think Angel is the best dog in the world because he is cute, playful, and funny! Do you have a pet that you love?

Chapter 1

“Mackenzie if you want to come with me and Peyton you need to get your shoes on,” called 13-year-old Mackenzie Nelson’s mom.
“Okay, okay! I’m coming. I’ll be out in 5 minutes,” shouted Kenzie.
“We’ll be in the car,” called Christina Nelson.  Christina and 11-year-old Peyton Nelson climbed into their gray BMW.
“Mom why can’t I sit up front?” whined Peyton.
“Peyton we’ve had this talk 1,000 times. The age is 13. You are 11. Two  more years and you can sit in the front,” calmed her mother. This wasn’t an unusual talk. Every time Peyton got in the car she asked the same question.
Mackenzie popped open the door. “I’m here,” she said with a big breath. “Peyton it’s my turn with the whiteboard,” she reminded. Mackenzie and Peyton had a small whiteboard and chalkboard in their mother’s and father’s car that they took turns with. Even though Target was only 20 minutes away, to both girls it felt like an hour. So one got the whiteboard and one got the chalkboard. But both girls preferred the whiteboard.
“Buckle up you two,” mom called in a soft voice. She turned on the radio and started to back up. “Kenzie check to make sure I don’t bump into any cars.” mom commanded.
“Sure. you’re good mom,” Kenzie reassured. They were off. Mackenzie started to draw a flower but it got smudged when Christina stopped. “Mom!” Mackenzie snapped.
“Sorry,” replied mom.
Chapter 2
“Mom are we there yet?” asked Peyton.
“Five minutes honey,” mom called. Five minutes later they arrived at Target. Peyton and Kenzie unbuckled their seatbelts and opened their doors. “Let’s get a cart girls,” mom said cheerfully. Kenzie went and got a cart and met mom and Peyton inside. “Okay let's do the clothes first, then the Christmas decorations, and then we’ll have lunch,” ordered mom. She loved to be organized.
“Can we have Chinese food?” begged Mackenzie.
“Only if Peyton wants it too,” calmed mom.
“Sure,” chimed Peyton. Both girls followed their mom.
“Okay. Peyton and I will be over by the shirts. Kenzie you check out the winter dresses and outfits,” commanded Christina. Peyton really needed some new winter shirts. The ones she had at home were either too small or they were ripped. Mackenzie  on the other hand had lots of shirts from last year’s Thanksgiving party at Nana and Papa's house. But she did need new full sleeve dresses. Mackenzie found some cute dresses but she got bored and went off to the shoes.
“Mackenzie it’s time to go,” called mom. She got no reply. “ Kenzie let's go!” she called again. Oh where could she be. Christina thought nervously.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie thought she should go back to the clothes, but she couldn’t remember where to go. She was lost. Don’t cry Kenzie, don’t cry, she told herself. But she couldn’t hold it in and she cried.
Five minutes later she dried her face and went to go look for help. She came upon a nice lady with two kids. Her parents told her if she was lost only go to people with kids. She asked the lady politely if she could help her. Within two minutes she was in her mom's arms.
“Oh Kenzie! I was worried sick!” Christina cried. They both thanked the nice lady.
“Oh you're very welcome. She’s quite brave,” the nice lady said happily. After that all three girls finished their trip and went in the car. Mackenzie and Christina breathed a sigh of relief.

Chapter 3
Christina, Peyton, and Kenzie finished their trip and got in their car. “Mom I’m so scared! What if I get lost again?” trembled Kenzie.
“You won’t, but if you ever do just do what you did in Target,” calmed mom. She started up the engine and began to drive. “You two buckled up?” asked mom. Both girls said yes.. By the time they got home it was 6:00 P.M.
“Welcome home girls! How was it?” asked dad in a cheery voice.
”Not super good,” moaned Kenzie.
“What happened?” he asked nervously. Kenzie didn’t want to explain so her mom did. Dad just stood there nodding his head with a sad face. When mom was done explaining dad asked, “Kenzie, did all that really happen?”
“Yes,”  Kenzie replied.
“Well cheer up! We’re having chicken, veggies, and mashed potatoes with gravy for dinner!” dad announced excitedly.  Within 20 minutes all the kids were seated around the dinner table. There were big bowls filled with a mix of green beans, carrots, and corn, mashed potatoes and a medium sized bowl full of gravy. There was also a big tray of chicken. Within an hour all the Nelson’s were full.
“It’s time for dessert! Who wants ice cream?” Christina chimed.
“I want Oreo flavor!” begged 7 year old Jackson.
“Okay,” calmed Mom. All the kids took their desserts and started eating. Once everyone was finished Christina started getting the kids to bed. “Jackson, Ryder, Max and James go to bed. NOW!” commanded Christina angrily. Within 2 hours all 8 of the Nelson kids were asleep in their beds, all except for Mackenzie. She was secretly listening to her parents conversation.
“Do you think we should tell the kids that we’re moving?” asked Brian nervously.
“I’m not so sure,” replied Christina. Moving! Mackenzie thought to herself. “ Do you think they’ll like that we’re moving to a mansion?” wondered Brian.
To a mansion! What if I get lost, worried Mackenzie in her head.

Chapter 4
It was 7:00 A.M. “Good morning, Kenzie!” cheered mom.
“Morning mom,” replied Kenzie in a sleepy voice.
“Here’s your cereal,” added mom. Mackenzie sat down at the table. Christina gave her cereal and orange juice.
“Hey mom?” Mackenzie asked nervously. “ Are we moving to a mansion?” wondered Kenzie nervously.
“Did you overhear me and dad last night?” mumbled mom with a guilty look on her face.
“Yeah,” replied Kenzie.  So Christina explained everything. Kenzie was getting more shocked by the minute. “Wait, we’re moving on Thursday!” yelled Kenzie.
“Yup” replied mom.
At 9:00, 17 year old Olivia (Liv) dropped Mackenzie off at school. “Bye Kenzie, have a good day,” cheered Liv.
“Bye Liv,” Kenzie mumbled. Liv drove off. Kenzie met up with Maya and Cory.
“Hey Kenzie” cheered Maya.
“Are you okay?” asked Cory.
“I have something to tell you guys. My family and I are moving!” cried Mackenzie sadly.
“What!” Maya and Cory shouted. They were in shock. “Where are you moving too?” asked Maya.
“Only to Brooklyn, New York. So I can still go to this school.” she calmed. Cory and Maya were relieved.

Chapter 5
Kenzie stomped into the living room at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday dreading the fact that it was moving day. “Morning Kenzie,” Liv cheered.
“Hi,” Kenzie replied sleepily, but angrily. “I don’t want to move,” she cried in her sister's arms.
“I know Kenzie but it’s good for our family. I’ll tell you a little secret. I don’t want to move either,” Liv said trying to cheer up Mackenzie. But it didn’t work. Mackenzie went to go get ready. She walked away slowly with her head hanging low.
After 2 hours everyone was in a car. Kenzie, Mom, Liv, Peyton and 9-year-old Phoebe in their gray BMW. Dad, Jackson, Ryder, Maxwell and James were in their big blue Honda. They all buckled up and drove off. Within one hour they reached their new home.
“It’s huge!” Kenzie belted.
“Yup,” replied mom with a grin.
“Go have a look inside kids!” dad exclaimed. All 8 kids rushed inside. Kenzie held onto Liv.
“Kenzie don’t be scared. It's not that big,” calmed Liv.
“No it’s huge. I’m sticking to you like gum on your sneaker,” snapped Kenzie. And that's exactly what Kenzie did.

Chapter 6
The day flew by and it was already 6:00 P.M. “Kenzie please get off me now!” commanded Liv.
“No way,” answered Kenzie.
“Mackenzie Ava Nelson get off your sister and find your way to your room,” ordered Christina so angrily you could see the vein popping out of her forehead. Kenzie stepped away from Liv and went to find her room. To her surprise it only took 2 minutes. She came back to her huge kitchen.
“I did it’,’ Kenzie exclaimed happily.
“Great job Kenzie,” mom cheered.
At 8:00 P.M. Kenzie sat on her bed in her new room. This was the first time Kenzie had her own room. She had her own bathroom, TV, vanity, all her toys, a really cool bed, and a secret passageway to Liv’s room!
Then she suddenly realized next Friday she would turn 13. She layed down on her bed and fell asleep dreaming of her birthday. A week passed at their new house.
The next morning Kenzie woke up. “It’s my BIRTHDAY!” she screeched. She hopped out of bed and slid into the elevator and pressed the down button. She stepped into the kitchen and……..
SURPRISE! Happy birthday Kenzie!” everyone yelled. She had waffles for breakfast, Subway for lunch, and an epic birthday party at Rock ‘n’ Jump. At the party she had pizza, ice cream cake and chicken nuggets. But the best part was at the end of the day.
“One more surprise Kenzie,” her mom said suspiciously. Everyone gathered around her bed. Cristina handed her a small box. Mackenzie opened it and…
”A PHONE!” she screeched! “Thank you guys so much!” she squealed. Mackenzie hopped out of bed and gave everyone a huge hug and kiss.
“Glad you had a good birthday!” cheered dad.
“Go get some sleep kiddo. We’re going to the aquarium tomorrow,” mom said happily. So Mackenzie climbed into bed and pulled up the covers.
“Good night birthday girl,” dad said as he gave her a kiss on the forehead.
“Sweet dreams my little teenager,” said mom sin a sleepy voice as she kissed her on the cheek. They turned off the lights and closed her door. Mackenzie, then fell fast asleep knowing she had nothing to worry about.

A Broken Leg

____________________________________________________________
Pew! Pew! Joey was playing on his Xbox when, “I hate you TV! I lost because of you!”  He was talking to the TV when Joey heard a THUMP! from upstairs. He figured his games fell off his shelf, like they always do. He didn’t want to leave them on the ground so he got off the couch and started to go up the stairs.
Thump, thump, thump, whack!  “Ahhh, my leg,” Joey screamed. “My leg is broken!” He had fallen down the stairs and he heard a big “crack!”  When he fell, he didn’t know what to do except scream for his mom. “MOM!”
____________________________________________________________
Joey’s mom hurried to him. When she saw him lying there in pain, she freaked out. His leg was bent backwards. “How did this happen?” she asked in a panic.
“I was going to pick up my games,” Joey replied in fear. He always hated going to the hospital. “I’m not going to the hospital,” Joey demanded.
“I’m calling 911, and I’m not changing my mind,” she replied. Joey didn’t know what to do to get out of going to the hospital. He knew it was hopeless.
____________________________________________________________

¨911, What’s your emergency?¨ the operator asked.
¨My son broke his leg,¨ Joey´s mom said nervously.
¨Ok mam, we're on our way.¨ the operator said calmly.
Joey was just laying on the stairs and he heard the siren coming from the ambulance. He was scared, but he wanted to get it over with, so he didn't try to convince his mom not to make him go.
Then he heard the knocking at the door. KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! Then, Joey´s mom answered the door and the EMTs came in with a stretcher and lifted Joey onto it. Then, they carried Joey into the ambulance and drove to the hospital.
By this time Joey regretted not trying to fight going to the hospital. Joey just lay there on his back staring blankly at the roof of the ambulance.
___________________________________________________________
When Joey got home, he hopped out of the car on one foot and with the help of his crutches and mom made it inside. He was really sad he broke his leg and when he got inside he just plopped on the couch and layed down.
He was bored so he got up and told his mom he was going to play at the neighbor’s house.  His mom told him no, but he didn’t know why. Then, his mom told him that since he broke his leg, he couldn’t leave the house.
He went to the couch and turned on his Xbox and put in a game. He played multiplayer and entered chat when he saw some people helping him. Their names were Bobby and Lucas. They talked and then they became friends. “Do you guys want to come over tomorrow?” Joey asked.
 “Sure”, they both replied.
__________________________________________________________
The next day Bobby and Lucas came over and played games with Joey. They were really nice and they all became best friends. Then they played the Xbox. Joey kept beating them in racing and parkour, but he was bad at swimming. They loved playing the game Halo together. It was their favorite game. Joey got bored of playing Halo so they played Roblox. They all loved Obbys but they loved tycoons more. They did superhero things and diving things.
They were best friends and always wanted to play with each other.  Just then, Joey realized that it was not so bad that he broke his leg because he made new friends.

Friends

Chapter 1
Dennis is going into school with his friends, Eric, Mike, Bill, and Will. Mike started talking about how good he is at baseball. Then Dennis said, “I bet I'm better at than you at baseball,” which Dennis regretted.
Then, Dennis and Mike just went on and on about who's the best and who's the worst at baseball. Dennis and Mike went their separate ways into their classrooms glaring at each other through the classroom windows.

Chapter 2
Dennis was lining up for recess and, as soon as they left, Dennis saw Mike's class leaving for recess, too. They just shot each other dirty looks. Dennis said under his breath” we will finish this at recess, hopefully.” At recess, it was the complete opposite of what Dennis said.
“Just stop fighting. You know I am the best because I can actually hit the ball!” Mike said with irritation.
“Well, I don't fall asleep at the base and let the ball fly into the outfield!” Dennis said waving his arms in the air. Just then, Bill and Eric started taking sides! Eric took Dennis’s side, which was a relief to him) Then Bill took Mike's side. Then the whistle blew. They ran back to their lines, still annoyed with each other.

Chapter 3
Later that day, Dennis’ class went to P.E. So, his class lined up and walked to P.E. and Dennis remembered that the class that he goes to P.E. with was Mike’s Class!!! He got so angry, that his face was as red as a strawberry and he started sweating. Dennis saw Mike through the window of the gym door. Then, Mike saw Dennis, and Mike just gave him a dirty look. They played team king pin. That’s where you set up four pins on each side and you pick four guards to guard the pins and the rest of the class rolls balls at the pins to try and knock them down. Mike was the only one left on his side and Dennis was the only one left on his side, so it was a tie.
After everyone cleaned up, and in the middle of cleaning up, Mike went over to Dennis and said, “Good Job.” After the game, everyone sat down and chose two people for the circle of wow. Dennis and Owen (who is another one of Dennis’ friends)  could pick a third to go in. Owen picked Mike. Dennis thought, “Mike did something nice for me and we were fighting so I am going to do something nice for him too.
Dennis said, “Yeah, ok, that’s a good idea.” Dennis looked at Mike and smiled and Owen told the gym teacher, “We want Mike!”

Chapter 4
Later that evening, Dennis and Mike were at the baseball game. There were a lot clouds but the sun was starting to break through. Their coach told Dennis to go to second base and he told Mike to go to the pitcher’s mound. Then he told everyone else what positions they had to go to. They warmed up and got ready to play. The first batter got up. He hit the ball right toward Mike. Mike threw to first base and got the batter out. Everybody was cheering. Dennis was clapping and he yelled while everyone was clapping.
          “Good Job Mike! “
Dennis thought if he yelled while everyone was clapping Mike would think it was anyone in the crowd. He wasn’t ready to make up yet.
In the next inning, the bases were loaded with two outs. It was Dennis’s turn to bat. Dennis stepped up to plate with his bat and got in his stance. The pitcher got ready to throw. Just as he released the ball, Dennis swung and sent it right to the outfield. The ball was as fast as an eagle flying through air. Dennis ran as fast as a cheetah to first base and as he was running he looked at the ball and saw that it glided over the fence.
Everyone was clapping while Dennis ran home. As soon as Dennis got into his dugout, everyone gave him high fives and congratulated him. Even Mike. Mike was about to walk away when Dennis grabbed his shirt and said, “Come here, I want to talk to you for a minute. I don’t want to fight anymore. I think this is stupid. We are both really good at baseball and I am sorry I said I was better than you.” At that moment, the clouds started drifting away and you could see the sun shining.
Mike said, “Yeah, I am sorry I said those mean things about you. I think we are both really good at baseball.” They gave each other a high five and smiled at each other. They heard the coach call for Mike to get up for bat. Mike nodded his head, grabbed the bat and ran up to base.
Then Dennis thought to himself, I am happy that he is my friend again. I don’t want to get in a fight ever again.

Lost

Chapter 1
It was a snowy day in New York City, the streets were covered with people. As Riley looked out her window she saw Jenna running up to her front door! “I have to get ready!” Riley screamed. Riley quickly, but quietly ran to her room and got changed and skipped down the stairs of her apartment. Jenna rang the doorbell.
Riley opened her apartment door and said, “Hi Jenna.”
“Hi Riley, are you ready to go?” Jenna asked.
Riley checked her bag and said excitedly, ¨I'm ready!¨ They hurriedly left Riley's apartment and went to Jenna´s apartment. The girls rang Jenna's mom’s doorbell.
“Hello girls, get your stuff Jenna,” Jenna's mom said. Jenna ran up the stairs and got the emergency kit, an umbrella, and boots. Jenna ran back down the stairs and brought her things.
Jenna and Riley stepped out of the apartment and Jenna yelled, “Bye, mom.” Jenna's mom slowly closed the door as they ran down the street.
Chapter 2
“So where do you want to go?”Jenna asked Riley while walking down the street.
“Jenna, I don't know there's a million places to go in New York City, you don't expect me to know?”
“Whoa, watch out the car almost hit you!¨ Jenna screamed frighteningly. They got so scared because they unexpectedly turned the wrong way. “Riley, watch out New York is filled with cars; you can get hit very easily,¨ Jenna said angrily staring right in Riley’s eyes.
They suddenly found themselves surrounded by buildings that were not as nice as the ones they were just by.  They didn't think that they were in Manhattan anymore. ¨Ugggh Jenna, we should turn back now.¨ Riley said with her teeth chattering and with her arms crossed holding the other shoulder they were both very cold.
“Don't be such a scaredy cat,” Jenna said very proudly. “I also know my way back home from here.” Riley knew Jenna was lying.

Chapter 3
¨Help!¨ they both screamed on the top of their lungs. ¨Help!¨ they screamed again. Suddenly after what seemed like hours, they stopped, they sat on a bench, and shivered.
Then a short while later nice a homeless man stood in front of them speechless, he thought the girls were orphans or something. The man exclaimed ¨Where are your parents?”
They both remained speechless. ¨Ugggh…they are…,” Jenna said nervously.
“...Over there,” Riley said to the man pointing to the bench.
“That’s right Riley, over there,” Jenna said to the man. She knew she was lying.
“Okay bye then,” the man said walking away.

Chapter 4
Jenna looked and saw an entrance  to something familiar. “Riley, look, the Bronze Zoo!” Jenna said proudly.
“No Jenna, the Bronx Zoo.” Riley said. “Let's go in then… what are we waiting for let's go!”
As they walked in they saw a billboard that said Welcome to the Bronx Zoo! They saw a sign that said Kangaroo Crossing, and they also saw the signs that said Amphibian Ave, and Lizard Lane. There were lions, seals, and penguins. Riley laughed, she thought the place was strange like a town filled with animals.
Chapter 5
“Riley, look a police man not some homeless guy,” Jenna. Riley knew that Jenna wanted to go home.
“Jenna you can leave, but I’m staying.”
“Fine I’ll stay.” Jenna said with an attitude. “Look Riley, Lizard Lane, I love lizards.” The girls walked down the path and went into the lizard house. In the house there were many kinds of lizards. “Riley look, there are blue lizards, my favorite color,” Jenna screamed.
“I guess you are liking the zoo,” Riley said. “Lets go over there they have elephants you can ride.” They both walked down the path to the elephants. When the girls got there Riley asked ¨Jenna do you want to ride the elephants.
“Well, I'm sorry elephants. I'm not riding you because I don't want to get whatever disease you have that makes you look disgusting and old,” Jenna said meanly.
Before Riley could get on the elephant a police officer came up to the girls and said, “Where are your parents?”
The girls knew they couldn't lie, he was a policeman, nobody could lie to him. The girls said, “They are all the way back in Times Square.”
“Well, they left you here?” the policeman asked the girls.
“No,” the girls said with their head facing the floor. “We got lost and ended up here.”
“Well then, it is almost dark, come in my car and I will take you home.” The girls walked into to the car and sat behind the cage in the back of the police car.
Chapter 6

“Where do you live?” the policeman asked.
“We live on 5th Ave, close to Times Square.” Riley and Jenna said.
“I will drive you there then,” the policeman said happily. As the girls were in the car Riley thought how Mom, Dad, Jack, and Jemma would be worried about her.  Then she heard a call from the the policeman's phone. RING… he quickly picked up the phone and said, “She's here in my car I am driving her home now.”  As the policeman put down the phone he said, “Your mom was worried, but she is okay now.”
Thank goodness, Riley thought. They arrived at Riley’s apartment building, rang the doorbell, and Riley's Mom screamed “Riley, thank goodness you're okay!” as tears started to roll down her eyes.
“Mom I’ll be right back, I have to drop Jenna off at her apartment and I won't get lost AGAIN...”

Books Are the Best Form of Learning

Books are the best form of learning for these three reasons, We learn new vocabulary words, It builds stamina, and most importantly, it is fun! That’ll show you why books are the best form of learning!

One of the reasons books are the best form of learning is that we can learn new vocabulary words. We get smarter when we use them for other things. For example , speaking like a true politician, and  sounding very very intelligent. Vocabulary words can help you a lot for your future.  Lots of people might want to hire you. It can also help with presentations. If you say the new words kind of early without knowing what it means, it can cause some confusion. But if you can handle all that stuff, people will think that you are SO smart. You'll be as smart as Albert Einstein! The new words can make great, inspiring quotes. You can replace words with the new ones from all those books.

Another reason that books are the best form of learning is that it builds stamina. That way, you can focus more on text, and read other things (not just books). You can also read deeper into the book. It is like getting trapped inside the story and watching it as a movie. LIke I said before, it can be described as a movie in your mind. Stamina can also help you finish it quicker. One time, I was so interested in a book, that I finished it in two days! That is why stamina is so helpful.

The last reason why I think books are the best form of learning s that it’s fun! It is completely based on your imagination. Once you picture the characters in your head, and what they are doing, you are imagining what is happening in your book. It can also give you amazing inspirational ideas. Most of my ideas came from J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter books. You can also find real cool facts in Non-fiction books. I learned Jellyfish could live forever in one book. That is pretty cool huh? And it also entertains you with a story (some books). You wouldn’t want to be stuck all day sitting on a chair, waiting for something fun would you?

Now that you know how important books are, go along and read something else, because books are the best form of learning!

Drama Queens

Chapter One
Click, click, click were the sounds of Abby’s shoes as she ran into her room. What am I going to wear today? thought Abby as she brushed through her closet. It had to match her sparkly high heels. Finally she spotted the perfect pink dress of her dreams.
“Abby we have to go... NOW,” scolded Abby’s mom. Abby rushed down the stairs, through the door, and in the car. When they finally reached the school, Abby ran through the double doors, her backpack flailing behind her. She slid on the cold, hard floor next to her group. “New outfit today Abby. Where did you get that sparkly tutu, Justice?” asked Jade in her sassy voice.
“Oh, well Jade where did you get those shoes, Babies R’ Us?’’ sneered Abby. People all around them giggled and whispered. Abby walked away with attitude, and decided to work by herself.
“Where do you think you're going Miss Hoffman? It’s a group effort,’’ the teacher said in a serious voice. “I was just getting my pencil,” Abby lied.
Jade rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue. Abby wearily slumped back down and fiddled with her pencil.
Chapter 2
Vroom. The bus went as it pulled away. Abby quickly ran down the driveway, and heard a grumble from her stomach. She was hungry. She skipped into the kitchen, and reached into the pantry grabbing the bread.  Ahh, the the last lucky piece, Abby said inside her head.
She opened the garbage can and noticed a flier that said, “Become a star today!”
Just in the garbage! Abby hesitated as she picked through the rotten tomato to get to the paper. Abby felt a shiver go down her spine as her fingers touched the soggy, wet, and smelly poster. Her eyes were drawn to the admission price $3, all going to charity! Wow thats awesome, I definitely need to sign up, Abby thought as she wrote her name on the “sign here” line.
But she quickly erased it as she hadn’t read any important stuff about the competition, let alone ask her mom.’’ Mommy, can I plea…” Abby started to ask  in her most childish voice, but her mom cut her off before she could finish. “Abby you're fifteen, what do you want? Actually I take that back, just do what you want, your money, your time!” Abby could barely keep herself from screaming, as she hopped around the kitchen.

Chapter 3
Abby rushed into the office, and almost ripped her sign up sheet going through the door. She put her paper in the blue basket. When she saw a stack of sign up sheets and noticed Jade’s on the top, she thought, “Oh gosh!”
Abby sped walked all the way to class, biting her lip. When her foot was almost in homeroom, she heard Jade, an unpleasantly familiar voice saying, “ I'm so excited  for the dance competition, I’m going to win for sure. I just have to make sure Abby doesn’t get in my way.’’ Abby felt like she was going to faint. She broke into a cold sweat and could barely  open the door with her shaking hands. Abby tried to act confident, and normal as she walked into the classroom.
Abby didn’t want Jade to have power over her so she reported, “Jade how do you think the golden ribbon will look on me tonight?”
Jade had a red, hot face, bulging veins, and her fists clenched. It looked like Jade’s pretty black hair could turn into red hair any minute. “Don’t you mean how will the tears pouring from your face, when I win, will look? Jade snapped. Abby didn’t have the energy to say anything so she just walked away.

Chapter 4
Abby pushed the door open, and her heart skipped a beat, as she stopped in her tracks. The stage lights made Abby’s clothes look pink, green, yellow, and blue. There were at least 15 doors lining the walls. The biggest curtain Abby has ever seen was only about 10 feet away. It was like a jungle with cameras, doors flying open, microphones, costumes, and dance shoes, everywhere! This is it. I could win 1 million dollars in the next 4 hours! Abby thought. “Alright honey. This is what you’ve been working for, let's find our room,” Abby’s mom said with comfort.
Abby couldn’t help but notice the first door on the wall was, JADE THE DIVA, in big, blue, bold letters. (45 doors later). Finally Abby and her mom reached Abby’s room. The last room, on the last wall. The real competition started in about 2 hours, so Abby had some free time. Abby didn’t want Jade being the biggest and best person at the competition, so she decided to decorate her door better than Jade’s. Abby didn’t have much at the moment to decorate, but she knew she had a costume that had lots of loose glitter she could use. Abby pulled the poster off the wall, and dug through the makeup drawer for some sort of sticky makeup to hold the glitter on the poster. “Perfect” remarked Abby pulling out some makeup glue.
Abby put the glue on the poster spelling the words, ABBY HOFFMAN SUPER STAR! Abby shook the costume all over the poster, and blew off the extra glitter. Now all she had to do was wait for it to dry and hang it up.

Chapter 5
After Abby hung up the poster, they announced on the big speaker, “The snack shop is opening.” Abby was so hungry her stomach was hurting. She grabbed a dollar out of her mom’s purse, and walked down the hallway. Boom! ¨Ouch¨ Abby moaned as she ran into someone and hit the ground. A horrible voice jerked Abby to her feet, “Mark my words, you better stay out of my way or else. Totills” Jade giggeld as she sashayed away before Abby could say anything. It was all a quick blur and Abby was happy it didn’t last long.
Abby reached the snack bar and bought herself a cookie. On the way back, Abby noticed a trail of glitter all the way to her room. She walked into her room and saw her costume was not hanging on the rack where it was before. She glanced down at the clock and there was only 30 minutes until the competition!
Abby panicked as she searched the whole room. Abby’s mom had only left for 5 minutes while Abby was gone. Abby got a weird feeling that it was probably Jade.So she decided to sneak into Jade’s room. Abby snuck down the hallway all the way to Jade’s. She tiptoed to Jade’s door and looked into the peephole, and she saw something sparkly but it was to blurry too tell what it was. She stood there a tight grip on the handle thinking about how she would open it, but suddenly her thoughts got disrupted with a piercing shriek behind her, “SECURITY!” Jade screeched, and nearly broke Abby’s ear drums.
Faster than a cheetah a small police officer showed up and asked “What’s the emergency?” “This...woman is trying to break in my dressing room!” Jade yelled. The police officer dragged Abby out of sight from Jade, and asked Abby what really happened since he new Jade was over dramatic.
“She stole my costume.” Abby muttered in frustration. The officer told Abby to stay calm and that he would get the costume in no time. (5 minutes later). The small man knocked on Abby’s door and returned the costume. “Thank you,” Abby snapped as she kind of glared at him, and slammed the door.
                                                          Chapter 6
Abby rushed on 2 layers of lipstick, and threw on her dance costume, a sparkly flowy dress with a sequined top that looked like a leotard. Abby gave herself a pep talk in the mirror, and headed backstage for the performance.
“Alright! 15 year olds there, 9 year olds and under there, and the rest right where I’m standing. Chop, Chop.”
Abby ran to the fifteen year old group and mouthed, ”You’re  going down,” to Jade. In the blink of an eye, Abby noticed that every 3 minutes a girl from her group would go out in front of the curtain and go to the back of the line after they were done, so that meant Abby was next!
She took a deep breath and leaped on the stage. Abby’s dance was the most advanced dance out of the whole competition. Abby’s dance was almost over she was praying that she’d make it through. Soon enough she was on her last move and landed her aerial perfectly. As Abby heard all the clapping and cheering she couldn't keep herself from giving an enormous smile.
Chapter 7
Jade had just finished her dance, and they were about to say the winner of 1 million dollars from the 15 year old age group. Abby held her breath as the producer announced, And the winner from the 15 year old group is……….. Abby Hoffman! Abby felt the tears pouring from her eyes as she ran onstage  and thanked the producer. He told her she was a very talented young lady and handed her the check. Abby twirled off stage and found herself facing Jade.
“Abby, Im so sorry for being so rude, you were amazing out there. Is there any way you can forgive me?” Jade sniffed.
“I’m sorry too, I was the same way. And sure, I forgive you.” Abby answered sympathetically.
Jade threw her arms around Abby. “Well I have to go, bye!” Jade stated as she ran away.
Abby just stood there in shock. Jade the diva just apologized! But it didn’t matter, what really matters is that Jade and Abby weren’t fighting, and Abby just won 1 million bucks!
Suddenly Abby saw her mom and pushed through the crowd to hug her. “I’m so proud of you,” her mom exclaimed.
Abby’s thoughts sank in, “This day didn’t stink as bad as I thought!”
