Jessica H.

As my family and I were passing through Disney World, my mom saw
a ride called Splash Mountain! “ Jess, we have to go on that ride together,”
Mom said excitedly.
“Okay, what is it,” I asked?
“It’s called Splash Mountain. It was my favorite ride when I was a kid,”
Mom exclaimed!
“That is so funny,” I say. “Maybe it will my favorite ride today!”
“You're right, mom says, maybe it will!” So Mom and I went in line.
It was the longest line EVER!!! We were all the way in the back and
I wondered how long it would take us to get to the ride. It would probably
take us FOREVER!!! I was so excited to go on the ride, especially since
it was Mom’s favorite ride when she was a kid!
For decoration they had this fake house that had treasure boxes in it to
make it seem fun. When we got into it, about an hour and a half had
already passed. But there was only 1 thing that was good about that, and
that was that I had time to talk to mommy about a lot of things, like
what was going on in our lives, like school and activities! Before
we got into the house it was about 85° outside and the house had air
conditioning so it felt really good. It was as hot as lava erupting from a
volcano. “Ahhhhh, both me and mommy say, it feels so nice in here.” I
was so annoyed and sweaty, but when I got into that house I felt so much
better!!! Soon enough we were going up the stairs in the house that lead
to the ride! By the time we got there 2 hours had passed!
When we got on the stairs there was a big sign that said  50 FOOT DROP!!!
“Umm mom, we have a problem.” I say.
“What is it honey?” asks mom.
“ Look at that sign, “ I tell mom.
“OMG” Mom says! I totally forgot about that”
“Oh, well of course you did,” I say jokingly! “ Hahaha,” we laugh together!
“ It’s okay, you either like it or not,” mom says.
“ I know, but what if it goes too fast, because it will probably go straight
down,” I say.
Then we were getting on the ride! “ Finally, I say, we are here!”
“I know right, it felt like we would never make it!!” Mom says!
“I know, remember when we were waiting in line for two hours in
85° weather?” I say.  But I loved talking to mom while dying outside
in the heat!!!
By the time we were getting on the ride, 2 hours had passed waiting to
go on this ride that I didn’t even know if I would like. But hopefully
it wasn’t all a waste because mom said I would really like it!
I was so eager to get on this ride with my mom!!! The whole ride down
I wanted to laugh with her and scream with her!! I love screaming with her
(if it is for a good reason, like on a fun ride) and especially laughing with her!
When everyone that was on the ride, was buckled in, we started moving!
As we started the ride I felt ready for it, ready for it all!! Along the ride
there were little characters. For example, there was a chipmunk, a rabbit
and a bear! Every time one of them came up, it said something. Once the
bear said  “How you all doing?” it was really funny because you wouldn’t
expect that to happen.
Along the ride there were also little hills that popped up every so often!
And every time that happened I started screaming because I thought it
was the big drop, and every time I did that, it was just a little hill! Whenever
we realized that, Mom and I started laughing hysterically! “Hahaha,” we
both laugh!
Then off in a little distance I saw the drop! “ Mom, look, there is the drop,”
I say!
“Oh yeah, are you ready?” Mom says.
I started to worry. Maybe I wasn’t ready, but then maybe I was.
“I don’t know,” I say. But it was too late, I couldn’t change my mind.
We were about to go down the drop and everyone started screaming,
including us! Then we were going down FASTER THAN EVER!!!
“AHHHHH,” I scream!
As we were starting to go down I realized I loved it!!! “This is my favorite
ride ever,” I think to myself.

At the bottom of the drop, there were these HUGE plastic vines with thorns
on them, and I really thought we were going to crash into them because we
were going so fast, but we took a really sharp turn to avoid them! Now
after riding Splash Mountain, I realize not to judge something on what you
think is going to happen, because in the end you will probably like it, but
also to always enjoy what you are doing because you might never get to
do it again, or at least not in a while!!!
