Important People
Introduction: Have you ever met someone famous or important? Well today we
are going to be talking about people who took a big part in the world and how
they pretty much brought civilization to it. You might think I am talking about
famous actors or singers, but actually I am talking about colonial leaders.
Such as, Alexander Hamilton. He was a founding father. We are also talking
about Pocahontas and Sam Adams. There will be a quiz at the end so, be aware.
Alexander Hamilton
Alexander was a Founding Father.to A Founding Father was a
descendants of immigrants that settled in the thirteen colonies. They led the
American Revolution against the Kingdom of Great Britain. Alexander wrote the
Federalist papers with Jay and Madison. He also had a duel against Aaron Burr.
What is a duel you might ask. A duel is a contest
with deadly weapons between two people in order to settle a point in honor.
Hamiltons intentions were to practice a duel. Burrs intentions were to kill
Alexander. Have you ever noticed Alexander Hamilton on money? Do you know why?
This is because he served as the first U.S Secretary of treasury. All $10
dollar bills issued today are Federal Reserve Notes. Alexander Hamilton was a
Great Leader.
Pocahontas
Who
is Pocahontas? She was a Native American peacemaker. A peacemaker was a
negotiator. She was notable for her association with the colonial settlement of
Jamestown, Virginia. Later on, Pocahontas got invited to England because the
Virginia company of london had long seen one of its primary goals as the
conversion of Native Americans to Christianity. The English company saw an
opportunity to promote an investment. So they invited Pocahontas to England as
a symbol of the tamed new world and the success of the Virginia Colony. After
her trip to England, she and John Rolfe boarded ship to sail back to Virginia.
On the ship Pocahontas became terribly ill. She died on board at age 22. Till
this day no one knows why. But, according to John Rolfe, Pocahontas died saying
“ All must die, but tis enough that her child liveth.”

Sam Adams
Sam Adams was a political
philosopher. “ What is that “?, you might ask. Well, It is a person who studies
politics, liberty, justice, property, rights, and laws. They are politicians. He also took part in the Stamp Act. I 1765,
Parliament passed Stamp Act. Sam did not like the Stamp Act. He thought that it
was unconstitutional. Subsequently he thought that it would hurt the economy of
the british empire. But, he did support the calls for the boycott of british
goods to put pressure on Parliament to repeal tax. Furthermore he was a
Founding father, just like Alexander Hamilton. So, he also was part of the
descendants of immigrants that settles in one of the 13 colonies in North
America who led the American Revolution against the kingdom of Great Britain.
He had 6 children.
Conclusion
Now that we know that Alexander Hamilton was a Founding
father , Pocahontas was a peacemaker, and Sam Adams was a political
philosopher, I hope you can change your mind about who is your favorite “
celebrity”. In the end, they all have done great things to help this world .
