Romanian
Culture
There are many parts of Romanian culture.
One part of Romania’s culture is to respect the elderly because of their wisdom. Older people are viewed as
wise since they have earned life experience. Romanians expect the most senior
person, by age or position, to make decisions that are in the best interest in
the group.
Another part of Romanian culture
is to have privacy. Romanians are formal and reserved with a strong need for
privacy. Most Romanians do not trust a stranger readily, they are generally shy
and quiet when you first meet. Once you develop a personal relationship,
Romanians will open up slightly.
Family in Romania is important. Each member of the
family has different roles and responsibilities. For example, the children are
expected to feed the animals on the farm. If someone has a problem, he will
tell a member of the family for help. The father is the head of the family.
